Waxing your boat at the right time of day can make your job a lot easier. It also depends on you geographical location. In southern states (like Florida) where the sun is always strong. The best time to wax your boat is first thing in the morning (6am) till about noon. This is when the sun is not as strong. For northern states, it really comes down to the the season. You can pretty much wax your boat from March-May with ease. During the summer, the sun is strong. Waxing during the morning hours is your best option. Regardless of your location, waxing in the direct sunlight is extremely difficult. Once you apply the wax, it drys to gel coat so fast, it is extremely hard to remove. So our general rule of thumb, is try to get your waxing in before noon.
