Removing a boat name, as said to be unlucky is also very simple. First we had to remove the vinyl letters. With a heat gun or hair dryer, go over the letters evenly. Keep a distance of atleast a couple inches. Once the letters are heated, use a plastic putty knife to remove letters. You may have to repeat the process several times. After the letters are removed you will still see a outline of the letters. This is when you either have to compound or wet sand. It the letters haven’t been on for too long, a good compound should do it. If the letters have been on a while, wet sanded will have to be done. And remember, don’t wax it until your new name is on!
